Hello and welcome to the BikeWise Mini Bike Club.
This page will give you all the information regarding how to register with the ACU.
What guidelines and rules are involved in attending our meetings.
And also what type of Minimoto can be used.
The club has been formed in conjunction with Durham Police Motorcycle Section, Durham County Council & County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service to provide venues for the safe use of Minimoto bikes under strict guidelines set by the Auto Cycle Union (The governing body of motorcycle sport in the UK).
The club is open to young persons aged between 6 and 17 years of age who have their own minimoto. Parental consent is a requirement to become a member.
Meetings will be held throughout the year (on a weekend) at various locations in Durham County.
In order to attend a meeting the riders must become a registered member of the ACU. This will provide insurance cover in respect of public liability, and personal accident for marshals and officials.

Meetings will be held on prepared circuits under the control of qualified marshals. MEETINGS ARE CLASSED AS PRACTICE SESSIONS AND ARE NOT COMPETATIVE RACES.
Riders will be charged £3.00 to participate in a meeting.
Strict guidelines govern the type of Minimoto which can be used. These are:-
Cable assisted brakes to pads and discs
39-49cc aircooled engine
Cord Pull start
No suspension
Have appropriate chain guard correctly fitted
Maximum wheel size 6.5 inches
*** If your machine does not conform to the above specification it cannot be used!***
Riders must have the following safety equipment:-
Helmet
Eye Protection Gloves Elbow / Knee Pads

A passport sized photograph must be enclosed with the riders name on the back, and also a cheque for £5 payable to ACU.
